Who would win in a fight, Superman or Batman?

 

Superman and Batman are two of the most iconic superheroes of all time.

This question assumes that they both have their typical powers and abilities and they are both behaving in a way that is consistent with their characters. However, it also assumes that they are both trying to win.

Introduction:

 

Superman is stronger, faster, invulnerable, and has heat vision. He would clearly win.

Introduction:

 

Batman is really smart and usually keeps Kryptonite at the ready in case he has to fight against Superman.

Powers:

Superman’s multiple powers give him incredible ability and versatility.  They include super strength, super speed, invulnerability, flight, heat vision, ice breath, x-ray vision, heightened senses, 

Powers:

Batman is a highly equipped martial arts expert billionaire genius.  Although Batman has no superpowers, he is a tactical genius who carefully plans for all contingencies.

Opponents Weaknesses:

Superman could defeat Batman in any number of ways, using any one of his superpowers.  Superman would be ready for Kryptonite when fighting batman.

Opponents Weaknesses:

Batman knows about Superman’s vulnerability to Kryptonite and would be able to utilize that weakness to defeat him.

Cannon:

Although Batman has beaten Superman before in the comics, this is due to writers working for the underdog.  It is more interesting to have the less probable outcome be the result of the conflict.

Cannon:

Batman has beaten Superman several times in the comic books.
