Olawoye, Lekan "As a father, not-for-profit executive, and former advisor to the Premier of Ontario, Lekan knows that City Hall needs a fresh start to better serve the people of York South-Weston.

Lekan is committed to working with his neighbours and fighting for the things that matter to residents and business owners in Ward 12. He knows that thriving businesses and good jobs are an essential part of a vibrant neighbourhood, and he is committed to better opportunities for all residents. That means better transit, support for families, reduced poverty, safer streets and healthier communities.

Lekan has been meeting with residents, families and business owners to hear their ideas on how things can work better in Ward 12. Want to have your say? You can share your idea with Team Lekan today."[1]

"As a father, not-for-profit executive, and advisor to the Premier of Ontario, Lekan Olawoye believes in the power of community.

At age eight, Lekan moved from Nigeria to Toronto with his mother and siblings in search of greater opportunities. Through years of hard work, Lekan established himself as a leader within the City of Toronto and with his Bachelor's and Master's degree in Social Work, Lekan dedicated his career to helping others.

In his five years as Executive Director of For Youth Initiative (FYI), Lekan has developed the small United Way agency into an impactful organization that delivers $1 million in programming to 1,000 young people in Toronto each year.

Lekan serves Toronto as a board member for the Ontario Council of Agencies Serving Immigrants (OCASI) and was the first-ever Chair of the Premier's Council on Youth Opportunities. Under his leadership, the Premier's Council designed a $5 million youth opportunities fund and advised on a $295 million youth job strategy fund."[1]
